DIVE CONTROL SPECIALIST CANDIDATES

 

Contact us NOW, to get started on your professional rating this winter, finishing next spring, ready for next season.  If you ever thought about being an instructor, this is your first step towards that goal, let us help you get started.

You need the following: CPR and 1st Aid, Full set of instructor level diving gear Advanced Open water and Stress/Rescue ratings, 1 year diving experience and 60+ logged dives, A medical release from your doctor, A willingness to learn and be a part of the scuba leadership team.

Dive Control Specialist (DiveMaster/Asst. Instructor)  $465 + books and SSI fees  starting in May

What can you do as a Dive Con? Assist with training classes, Conduct diving tours, Give Scuba Skills updates, Teach U/W photography and other specialties, Assist in shop sales and equipment repair.

Stress/Rescue: 

The Stress- Rescue class is a great class for new divers and experienced ones alike.  This class deals with those things that cause people to get stressed, especially before a dive.  Once these issue are known to the diver and his buddy, many can be avoided entirely by following standards set forth in the program.  This unique program also addresses underwater buddy assist techniques, which  can minimize distress underwater by observing and acting early to correct minor problems.  Serious underwater emergencies with divers are also covered including proper rescue and egress methods.  Fact finding after and incident is also an important part of being a certified Stress/Rescue diver.  You will truly appreciate this extra special two day program and you receive the coveted Red C-Card indicating your rating!

 

Night/Limited Vis Diver:

This program is popular primarily because most all inland divers are faced with limited visibility situations daily and other really wish to be prepared for the more exciting area of night diving.  This fun course covers it all, from text, video and actual practical application of skills with a qualified instructor.  This is a great addition to your growing skill base!

 

First Aid:

We teach a quick and practical First Aid program certified by the American Red Cross.  Teaching you the basics of wound care, bleeding and broken bones.  WE cover aspects of shock and its treatment and practical application of all skills.  Every diver should have a basic first aid course every three years to keep current.

 

CPR/ AED:

We are teaching the latest in CPR techniques coupled with the new technology of Automated External Defibrillation skills.  AED’s are becoming more readily available at dive sites and YOU need to know how to use one.  IN just 5 hr. we will have you certified in both critical skills; making you a more skilled diver and buddy!

 

Deep Diver:

Ever wondered what was down below.  Every thought hum? I wonder if I am doing this right?  Need to feel more comfortable with your dive planning and dive tables?  Do you remember the signs of nitrogen narcosis? Decompression sickness?  If any of this sounds familiar then you are in the majority of divers.  Divers increasing their depth need additional training, as it states in virtually every basic text book!  This is your class, we will get you comfortable with all the aspects of Deep Diving and you can be approved on your new C-card for Deep diving!
